Vol. 4 is the fourth studio album by English heavy metal band Black Sabbath, originallyreleased in September 1972. It was the first album by Black Sabbath not produced by RodgerBain; guitarist Tony Iommi assumed production duties. It achieved gold status in less thana month, and was the band's fourth consecutive release to sell one million copies in theUnited States.
